Cake Decorating

NEW CAKE BAKING AND FUN WITH FROSTING
Julie will go over mixing, filling pans, and baking with our mixes. We will demonstrate Ultimate White, Dark and Rich Devils Food, German Chocolate, and Carrot cake. She will tell you what you can add to mixes to change or enhance the flavors. Frostings demonstrated will be Buttercream, Whipped Cream and Cream Cheese.

Class is on May 21st from 7 to 9 in the evening. Cost is $50.00.

New times BASIC CAKE DECORATING
Morning classes added. July 15,17,22 & 24 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Afternoon classes added July 15,17,22 & 24 from 7:00 p.m. to 9 p.m.

NEW Basic class taught in Spanish..
This is for Spanish speaking only. The same format as the regular class only in Spanish.

NEW BASIC FONDANT
Fondant is used on many of the beautiful cakes you see in magazines.
Students will learn to roll out, color and shape fondant for covering and decorating your cake. We will provide a baked cake for you to fill and practice on. At the end of the evening you will take home your cake and share with family and friends.

Cost is $65.00

July 1st

BASIC CAKE DECORATING
This class covers the basic principals of Cake Decorating. You will learn how to split, fill and frost a cake. Create borders, flowers and practice writing on cakes. Discover how creative you can be with frosting and a pastry bag.

All classes are from 7:00 to 9:00 in the evening
Cost is $38.00 (four 2 hour classes per session.)

ADVANCED CAKE DECORATING
Students will learn different decorating techniques. Color flow, figure piping, and string work are a few of the things we will cover in class.

LE CHOC-O-LAT’ by George
George, a renowned pastry chef, will demonstrate how to make chocolate ganache from scratch. Students will receive a 7 inch cake to fill, frost and ganache. He will share his recipe for a French buttercream to use on your cake, then we will make chocolate cream log to decorate and take home.

February 5th

VALENTINE CANDIES
Learn to make 4 different kinds of truffles, a milk, a dark, and the class will choose the other 2. Make chocolate suckers and decorate t hem, then cherry cordials.

February 7th

CINNAMON ROLLS and PUFF PASTRY DESSERTS
We will be making Julie’s famous cinnamon rolls, with plenty to take home. Class will also make fun desserts with puff pastry dough to take home.

February 21st

EASTER CANDIES
Learn to make Julie’s delicious fluffy marshmallow from scratch,
then layer it with rocky road for an Easter treat. Make rocky road eggs and decorate them with royal icing flowers for gifts. We will also make home made caramel for turtles.

March 4th

YUMMY BUTTER COOKIES, by George
Back by popular demand! Our pastry chef, George, will again demonstrate a basic butter cookie, then show us how to flavor it with mocha and chocolate. Students will pipe out rosettes, shells, sticks and more. Fill and decorate with chocolate, or sprinkles, each student will take home 2 to 3 dozen cookies.

March 5th

SUGAR EGGS
Students will learn to make sugar eggs, then will decorate a large egg we will have ready for them. All supplies are furnished, egg, royal icing and plastic decorations and a box to take your creation home.

EASTER COOKIES
Sugar cookies will be ready for you to decorate with chocolate and color flow icing and a variety of sprinkles. We will make Swedish Blonds and Florentina cookies in class. Take home everything you make.

March 12th

PETIT FOURS, by George
Small delicate cakes will be filled and frosted with poured fondant, t hen you will decorate them to take home to friends and family.

ADVANCED FONDANT
This class will develop more skills in the art of fondant. Students will
Create spring flowers and bows to decorate their cakes.

GUM PASTE FLOWERS
Cecily will teach you how to make Hawaiian themed flowers on stems for cake decorating. This class was very popular last time so sign up early, we have a limit of 6 for this class.

GUM BALL ANIMALS (New class)
Learn to make the cute animals like you see in our store. Gum Balls are the
base for these items. We will supply gum balls and icing.

FANCY CAKES
Burnt almond, Chocolate Truffle Torte and Oreo Cakes will be taught.
We will supply the cakes and all other ingredients you will need. You will
work on each of the cakes and take them home.

May 1st

CUPCAKE PULL APART
These are very popular and fun to do. You will receive cupcakes to design
a cake that is easy to pull apart and serve. We will have photos to share and give you ideas so you can take home a fun dessert.

May 14th

Cream Puffs, Eclairs and Nepolians.
George will show you how to make the dough for these desserts from scratch. Cream fillings will be made from scratch also. Bake them, fill them, then frost with chocolate.

You can taste them here and take home the rest to share, or eat them all yourself. There will be plenty to take home.

MOTHERS DAY CANDIES
Truffles, Chocolate Roses, Quick and easy fudge. These are a few of the candies you can easily make and give as gifts. We will include more as time allows.

Each student will receive a kit containing a cookbook with recipes used in class, apron, measuring spoons, wooden spoon etc. items made in class will be boxed to take home and share with family. The kids can taste or eat what they make as they are preparing their food, anything left will be taken home.

These 2 classes have been very popular the past few years. We supply books, kitchen supplies and lots of food. We want to make these classes
different from the rest and are looking for new cookbooks for kids that
are good for them and they will be able to do at home after class is over.
